Although affiliate marketing is getting more popular every year it’s understandable that a lot of people still have questions. I not only notice this with the people that arrive on this website but also my close friends.
This is why I put a collection of questions I get asked often together so you have access to the answers you need to decide if you want to go on this affiliate marketing journey towards making money online.
I’ve divided the page into different sections based on the categories the questions fit in. So if you have any question take a look at the page.
Sidenote* I'll be updating this page as much as I can but it can occur that your question isn't on this page. In that case don't hesitate to send me a message.
Affiliate marketing is a form of internet marketing where you partner up with companies and promote their products.
The moment you refer someone to that company and they buy a product you'll receive a commission based on what they've bought.
Everybody that’s looking for a flexible source of income.
People that aren’t willing to put the work in to succeed.
No need to create a product (which saves time and money.)
You can do it from anywhere all you need is a laptop and internet connection.
It’s the closest thing to having passive income.
You can combine it with other methods to make money online.
Nothing comes to mind.
The answer I want to give is that the sky is the limit. I’ve seen people become millionaires with affiliate marketing especially when you combine it with email marketing and this is all true.
The answer I’m going to give you is that it’s entirely up to you. How much work you put into it will determine how much money you make.
A working computer and an internet connection. That’s literally all you need.
Yes. Most people I know combine affiliate marketing with other methods. The most common combinations I’ve encountered are with e-commerce, email marketing, PPC-advertising, and cryptocurrency.
It depends on how much you work on your affiliate marketing business. I've met people that started a lot later than me and are earning three times as much as me purely because they put in the work.
Generally, there’s a learning period you have to go through before you start making money online.
No this isn’t a network marketing thing. You create content targeted at people already interested in the type of products you promote and let the content do the talking.
Not even close! As long as people buy products affiliate marketing will exist. Every day new people become interested in the type of products you’ll likely promote just like new people are born every day
All the resources you need to get started in one package
You can do affiliate marketing without a website but you’ll only be handicapping yourself. A website helps with positioning yourself as an authority, can be styled in any way you want unlike social platforms, and are easier to change in a passive income stream.
If you know what you’re doing you can do it without paying for training but you don’t know what you don’t know. Having proper training can be the difference between making money in 9 months or 3 years.
Yes it’s possible to promote products you’ve never tried before but I wouldn’t recommend it. People buy your products based on trust. When you violate that trust you’re going to have a hard time selling products
No. A lot of products have free trials that say a lot about the quality of a product. You can also join affiliate marketing communities and discuss with people that have tried the product on their what they think.
Yes. You can put the customers on an email list by using an email marketing service so you can keep in contact with them.
A subject that appeals to a small section of the population.
No the bare minimum to start affiliate marketing is being willing to learn about your niche. The goal is to become an authority in your niche but that doesn't mean you can't make money before that.
When you look at some YouTube channels that just do unboxings they aren’t experts in their fields either. They just look at a gadget try it out and then tell you what they think.
In a lot of cases this is more than enough.
No there are thousands of niche out there that are profitable enough to make a living off and more. I’ve seen people excel in niches like headphones, Football snack helmets, dirt bikes, and more.
You can judge how good a niche is by looking at how much competition is in the niche and how the popularity of the niche. There are online tools dedicated to finding these things out.
Check out my getting started bundle to get free access to online tools that can help with finding out if you’ve picked the right niche.
There are multiple methods you can use to attract website visitors. The main one I’d recommend is search engine optimization.
You get high ranks in search engines such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo for specific phrases people type into the search engines and let people click on your content.
You can also use social media platforms such as Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and use YouTube.
No. even in 2019 you can still use organic traffic methods to attract website visitors but you need to be smart in the way you do it.
Yes. for the most part, you’re just giving objective recommendations. If the product you promote just happens to be a perfect fit just give show them the reasons why that is and live with the results.
I’d say check out my free email marketing course in which I give away a lot of information that can help with everything regarding affiliate marketing.
It differs per provider. I personally use SiteRubix because it's designed specifiically for affiliate marketing websites.
I personally haven't had any complaints in almost two years.
Build a free website right here.
No. Content management systems have made the process of creating websites incredibly easy. You can set up a simple website that gets the job done in 30 minutes.
That’s up to you. I decided to turn my main page into a branding tool because I want to become more active when it comes to 1-on-1 consults.
If you want to make money with affiliate marketing I’d advise against going for a free blog. Free blogs often have a lot of restrictions that prevent you from making money online.
You often can’t use external plugins, place ads, and there’s a limit to how many people can be on the website.
I’d recommend creating an actual website with a domain name and hosting and putting a blogroll page on it.
