In this post, I’ll share with you 15 ways to get paid to refer friends to websites where they can buy products, make money, or do any other activity.
There are a lot of websites that claim you can refer people to make money but the majority of them turn out to be fake or extremely difficult to earn money with.
This is why I compiled a list of websites, online stores, and software products that most people are already using or have a low barrier to entry.
This makes it easier to not only refer people but also get them to purchase a product which leads to earning money because they don’t need to be convinced.
Get-Paid-To Website Recommendations
Get-Paid-to websites or GPT are websites that offer money in exchange for doing small tasks. These tasks often consist of completing surveys, playing games, installing apps, watching short videos, and more.
Commissions are mostly based on how much money the person you referred makes. The earning potential of GPT websites isn’t high because of the low difficulty needed to perform the tasks. This is also why a lot of people call it easy money opportunities.
1. Ysense
Ysense is a website that makes it possible to earn money by doing surveys, and trying out products, games, and apps. Ysense is based in the USA but is available for all countries outside of the United States.
The Ysense affiliate program pays you money when your referrals complete surveys or test products and games. You’ll earn a 20% commission for every completed survey, $01,0 for every sign-up, and $2 for every $5 earned by one of your referrals.
2. Remotasks
Remotasks is a website where you can perform “micro” jobs in exchange for money. In my opinion, it’s one of the most professional micro job platforms I have seen since I started this website.
Depending on the difficulty of the jobs and your accuracy you can earn more money. When you refer someone who earns $20 on Remotasks, you’ll each receive a $10 bonus.

3. Swagbucks
Swagbucks is a website that makes it possible to earn money online by performing tasks in exchange for their self-made digital currency called SB’s which of course is short for swag bucks.
Tasks on Swagbucks that you can earn SB’s with are doing surveys, watching videos, performing searches online, cashback shopping, checking offers, and more.
As an affiliate, you’ll earn 10% of the money your referral makes on Swagbucks.

4. Inbox Dollars
Inboxdollars is a website similar to Ysense and Swagbucks. Inboxdollars helps people make money by doing paid surveys, cash-back shopping, trying new apps, exploring new products and services, playing games, and more.
Just like the other GPT options in this list, the earning potential isn’t that high. Inbox dollars make it possible to earn up to $5 by getting $1 for every friend who signs up and activates their account. You also earn a commission of 30% based on the earnings of your referrals.
Merchant website recommendations
The easiest way in my opinion to earn money by referring a friend is to refer them to merchant websites.
The reason behind this is the large variety of products they sell. In most cases, many of your friends are already using products sold by a merchant website or they already are buying things at merchant websites with affiliate products.
It takes zero effort to ask your friend to purchase something they already intend on buying through your referral link and earn a commission.
5. Amazon
Amazon is one of the biggest merchant websites on the internet. They sell a wide variety of products such as computers, travel bags, cooking pans, books, and much more.
The Amazon affiliate program is called Amazon associates. Amazon Associates doesn’t have a fixed commission rate but has a different commission rate for every product category.
The commission rates are mostly between 1% and 10%.

6.eBay
eBay just like Amazon is one of the biggest merchant websites on the internet. They also sell a large variety of products similar to Amazon. The eBay affiliate program is called the eBay Partner Network.
The commission rates are similar to Amazon but there’s a small difference between both merchant websites. eBay Partner Network has a cookie duration of 24 hours.
For those that don’t know what that means is that if they click your link they’ve 24 hours to purchase something otherwise it won’t be seen as your referral and you won’t earn a commission.

7. Walmart
Walmart is also a merchant website that sells a variety of products online. Globally Walmart has a smaller reach than eBay and Amazon but that doesn’t mean you can’t earn money even if you live outside of the United States.
Not all products can be sold through their affiliate program so if you intend to use it some research is in order to make sure you refer people that are interested in the right products.
Walmart offers a commission of up to 4% depending on which product your referral purchases.
8. Target
Target is a retail store that has a website on which you can purchase its products just like Amazon, eBay, and Walmart. Target just like Walmart isn’t a global seller and mostly targets America.
Just like with Walmart not all products can be promoted through their affiliate program but there is still a large variety of products to earn money from.
Target commission rates go up to 8% depending on which product you promote.
Travel recommendations
Travel recommendations include all activities that have to do with travel. Travel agencies, Hotels, and travel accessories companies often have affiliate programs that make it possible to refer people to them and earn money if they purchase something.
The earning potential of referring people to these travel websites is considerably higher than that of Get-paid-to websites and can even be enough to replace a full-time income if you know how to direct enough people to the websites.
9. Booking.com
Booking.com is a website that can be used to book flights, cars, hotels, and activities. It’s one of the biggest booking websites in the world.
It’s also trusted and used by a lot of people which means if anybody is planning on taking a trip there often is an opportunity to earn some money with Booking.
The commission rate for Booking purchases is somewhere between 4% and 20%.
10. Expedia.com
Expedia is similar to Booking.com. It’s a travel agency that allows you to book everything that’s related to travel. It’s not as popular as Booking but it is a trusted website.
The commission rates of Expedia are similar to that of Booking.com but there are a few exceptions where you can even go as high as a 50% commission rate.
In the right situation, you can earn a lot of money by referring people to Expedia.
11. Hotels.com
Hotels.com is a sub-website of Bookings.com. They mostly have the same offers as Booking but if you’re only focussed on booking a hotel it’s easier to look through all the offers.
The commission rate for purchases is 4% and referral clicks have a cookie duration of 7 days. It might be worth looking into if you have friends that often travel or like staying in hotels.
12.Tripadvisor.com
Tripadvisor is a little different from the others I have named in this section of my post. Tripadvisor does make it possible to book hotels and flights but it is also possible to make reservations at restaurants and do non-travel activities.
As a result, the options of things you can refer your friends to being a bit higher. The commission rate is also higher (50% – 80% because these activities aren’t that expensive.
That being said, it is still a great way to get paid for referring friends.
Software Recommendations
Software applications are great for earning money especially if they’re well-known and people already use them.
Below I have a list of applications and tools that have either been on the market for decades or have recently become insanely popular thanks to podcasts, YouTube videos, and other forms of content marketing.
The earning potential of recommending software applications to people is on par with those of travel recommendations which means there’s a lot of money to be made when done properly.
13. NordVPN
Nordvpn is getting more popular every day thanks to all the influencer marketing that is being used. I haven’t gone a single day without seeing a sponsored ad. VPN is an acronym for Virtual Private Network.
These VPNs are often used to get into websites that are restricted by region. A great example of that is Netflix which offers different series per country. You could access another country’s Netflix with help of a VPN.
NordVPN offers a 100% commission per new sign-up for a 1-month offer, 40% per new sign-up for 6 month – 2-year offer, and 30% per renewal.
14. Squarespace
Squarespace is a website and online store builder that similar to NordVPN has been doubling down on influencer marketing to promote its products. As a result, Squarespace is on a lot of people’s minds which makes it easier to recommend.
The commission rate for most of Squarespace their plans is 3%. Squarespace also offers high-quality services so there’s no problem recommending it to your friends.
15. Norton Antivirus
Norton Antivirus is an online security application that has been around for decades. I have been using it for more than a decade and so have others. It’s safe to say that it’s one of the most trusted security applications available.
This is why you shouldn’t have any problem recommending this to friends that might have gotten a new PC or have had trouble with malware recently.
The commission rate differs per country and the program isn’t available in every country but most country programs offer a 20% commission rate.
Final Words
Here’s my list with recommendations for getting paid. There are thousands of other products out there that you can refer people to as well but I purposefully picked these because they’re well-known.
Referring people to websites where they can buy products a.k.a. affiliate marketing is a billion-dollar industry and a lot of people are making a full-time income with it.
