Is Amare Global A Scam or Legitimate MLM? Read Before Joining!

Welcome to my Amare Global review. In this review, I’ll answer the question if Amare Global is a scam or a legitimate MLM company.

Over the last 5 years, I’ve been busy creating reviews about all kinds of online products and opportunities.

Some turned out to be fake others were legit ways to make money online but in the process, I learned how to spot scams. In total I have reviewed well over 200 business opportunities to see if they're legit.

Amare Global can’t be called a pyramid scheme from a legal perspective but it has a lot of red flags that lead me to believe something isn't 100% right. 

They also aren't making any false claims about income potential but I find it hard to call it a business opportunity because +80% of the members lost money in the previous year.

In this post, I lay out multiple reasons why I think something sketchy is going on.

What is Amare Global?

Amare Global is an MLM company that distributes supplements and other products geared towards promoting mental wellness (Mental Fitness, Physical Performance, Stress Resilience, Financial Wellness, and Confidence).

Amare Global’s mission is to empower people to live happier and healthier lives by addressing the connection between the gut and brain. They believe that a healthy gut is crucial for overall well-being and mental health.

Amare Global is focused on the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Mexico. Amare Global has its headquarters stationed in Irvin California.

The founder of Amare Global is Hiep Tran. He founded Amare Global in 2016.

Hiep Tran has been into entrepreneurship since he was 23.

In 2008, he co-founded Meritus Payment Solution but changed his role in 2014 after it was acquired by Optimal Payment.

He became the CEO of Optimal Payment after rebranding it and changing its name to Paysafe. He worked there till 2016 after which he signed.

He set up a team with people who weren’t new to the network marketing business such as Shawn Talbott (formerly with Lifevantage), Jared Turner (CEO of Young Living), and Gabriel Sanchez (Former President at Young Living).

How does Amare Global work?

Amare Global is a company that distributes Health and Wellness products. Instead of directly selling it to consumers they have chosen to use the MLM model which gives you the choice to earn money by:

• Selling the products for a commission
• Recruiting people to earn bonuses.

What is MLM?

MLM (a.k.a network marketing or direct selling) stands for multi-level marketing.

According to Wikipedia, multi-level marketing is a marketing strategy for selling products or services where the revenue is derived from a non-salaried workforce.

As a part of this workforce, you sell the products from the company, and/or recruit people to do the same thing. This group of people you recruit will work under you and is referred to as your downline.

The bigger your downline is the more money you can earn passively (technically speaking) because you’re getting paid a percentage based on the performance of your downline.

This also means the person who recruited you, your upline, is making money based on your performance.

The act of recruiting turns an MLM company into a pyramid-shaped organization where the first people to join make the most and are on the top of the pyramid and those last to join are at the bottom.

MLMs have been around for a long time. There are Multi-level marketing companies active today that were founded in the 1950s. MLM has a lot in common with pyramid schemes, so scammers often use MLM to disguise their pyramid schemes.

Is it absolutely necessary to recruit people? No.

You can also stick to just selling products you can order at wholesale price (25% discount) and re-sell to make a profit. This is easier said than done for multiple reasons which is why most members try to recruit others so they can earn more money.

How to join Amare Global 

There are 3 ways you can join Amare.

Customer

Brand Partner - Affiliate a.k.a. Amare X member
These are people who have joined the Amare X program. This program is available for people with more than 15K followers on social media. 

If you qualify, you can sign up for free on the Amare Global website.

You aren’t required to build a team as an Amare X member and you’ll receive a custom landing page, code, training, and free products (in the first month).

As an Amare X member, you commission rate is 38%

Brand Partner - Promotor
A promotor (previously known as Wellness Partner) is someone who wants to earn money with Amare Global its MLM program.

Promotors are able to purchase products from Amare and sell them to others. They can also build teams and earn bonuses.

To become an Amare Global "Brand partner - Promotor" you'll have to follow these 3 steps.

Step 1: Pay the annual fee
The first step to becoming a Brand Partner is paying the startup fee.

Step 2: Purchase a starter kit (Optional)
Amare Global offers a Starters Pack which costs $264.95 (which is worth 200PV) and comes with additional products, bonuses, and discounts such as a 50% discount on the annual fee, and special offers for Subscribe & Save memberships.

They also offer 4 additional starter packs:

• The Entrepreneur Pack 499,95 (300 PV)
• The Launch Pack, $749,95 (400 PV)
• The One Amare Starter Pack, $879.00

Step 3: Recieve training & start sharing
After receiving your materials you can start your training and mentorship with your upline. After that, you can start sharing Amare Global products and earn bonuses and commissions.

In the past, they only had 1 Launch Pack but now they offer multiple launch packs.

These launch packs come with additional resources to help you on your way.

The website and online marketing puts a lot of focus on the Packs but every product in these packs can also be sold separately.  

Amare Global Apparel and gear

Not every product Amare Global sells is meant to support your mental wellness.

Amare Global also has its clothing and gear line that consists of hats, bags, joggers, writing accessories, and more.

At the moment, Amare Global sells exactly 52 different products (excluding gear and apparel).

Are Amare Global products expensive?

As you can see in the previous heading, Amare Global offers quite expensive products.

As a sales proposition, providing products that support mental wellness is admirable but it isn’t unique. 

Similar products are offered by other non-MLM companies at only a fraction of the wholesale price of these products. 

This could become a challenge when trying to sell these products when with 1 simple Google search they can find cheaper alternatives.

Are Amare Global products FDA-approved?

No. None of the products Amare Global offers are FDA-approved. Amare Global also states this on every product page when you scroll to the bottom.

Amare Global Compensation Plan

Amare Global can be considered a traditional MLM when looking at the 17 pages long Amare Global compensation plan.

Here’s how you make money with Amare Global in a nutshell.

1. Personal Sales Commissions
As a Brand Partner, you’ll be able to purchase products at wholesale price and resell them at retail price. The difference between those prices is 25%. 

So on every sale, you’ll make a profit of 20%. 

2. Downline Commissions
These are additional commissions based on your downline. Depending on your rank, you can get residual commissions up to 10 levels deep. You’ll get a commission rate somewhere between 1% and 5% per level based on their personal sales.

3. Additional Bonuses
Additional Bonusses are available based on rank, sales, recruiting, and mentoring your team. I'll expand on this later in this post.

In total, there are 14 ranks that all come with their benefits such as getting a higher commission percentage of all your sales.

How much does it cost to join Amare Global?

The price for joining as a brand partner is $69,95.

This is an annual fee but these aren’t the only costs for becoming a brand partner.

As a brand partner, you purchase products from Amare and resell them to customers for a profit.

This means you’ll consistently have to invest money in purchasing products to earn money.

This is why most people purchase a starter pack for $264.95 since this is the cheapest option to get products that you can resell.

This also comes with a 50% discount on the annual fee.

This means to start out as an Amare Global brand partner (and be able to earn commissions) in the cheapest way possible, you’ll have to pay a minimum of $35 + $$264,95 = $334,9.

How much does it cost to maintain your Amare Global business?

Something you might’ve suspected when you read through the post is me using the words “active” and “eligible” which implies a minimum quota must be fulfilled to be able to earn bonuses.

In a year depending on rank, you’ll have to reach at least 1200 PV in sales (100PV every month).

1 PV isn’t equal to a specific dollar amount unfortunately so it’s hard to make an educated guess at the total minimum costs.

One thing I can say looking at Amare Global Starter Packs their worth in PV is that 1PV is worth at least more than a dollar.

So the bare minimum you’ll spend in a year as an active independent distributor is roughly $1200.

This doesn’t take into account additional costs such as:

• advertising or promotional expenses
• product samples
• training
• rent (for conferences)
• travel (for conferences)
• Telephone and internet costs
• and other miscellaneous expenses.

Ways to earn money with Amare Global?

There are multiple bonuses that are explained in their compensation plan you can take advantage of such as the:

Fast Start Bonus
A bonus that makes it possible to earn up to $500 by retaining new customers and brand partners.
Social Selling Bonus
A bonus based on personal sales with a commission rate of up to 38%
Minimum Monthly Reward 
A cash bonus rewarded every month when you reach the mentor ranks/
Car Program
A vehicle lease option starting at the rank of executive leader. 
Vacations
Incentives to earn vacations and other related prices based on rank.
Legacy 
35% commission rate on Unilevel volume and an additional 1% bonus.
Bonus Pools
A bonus of up to 4% based on the revenue of the company.

Can you really earn money as an Amare Brand Partner?

In theory, the sky is the limit but in reality we know because of factors such as your ability to recruit, your competition, and the performance of your downlines there’s often a limit.

You can read everything you need to about these bonuses in the compensation plan but I’m more interested in real numbers.

Luckily, Amare has published its most recent income disclosure statement.

An income disclosure statement is a document that contains how much money every brand partner earned in the previous year.

There’s a lot of information in this document so I have decided to share with you my findings in quick bullet points.

Key takeaways from the Amare Global income disclosure

There are a few things I find a bit strange about the income disclaimer they’ve published. According to the disclosure.

The majority of Brand Partners haven’t earned meaningful money in the last year
86,35% of the Brand Partners earn an average of $25,04 per month.

The majority of Brand Partners lost money in the last year
86,35% of the Brand Partners earn an average of $25,04 per month. This means they earned an average of $300,48 in the previous year. This doesn’t even cover the costs of the start-up fee and the start-up pack for the first month.

Earning a full-time income with Amare Global isn’t likely
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics,  the annual mean wage for a full-time wage or salary worker in the United States is $53,490 per year or $1,028 per week. 0,15% of all Brand Partners earned g a full-time US income in the previous year.

After looking at this information it's clear that 90% of the money is going to the people at the top of the pyramid. 

The little money that's left goes to the rest but because of expenses relating to staying eligible you're more likely to lose money than earn it.

Why aren’t people earning decent money with MLM companies like Amare Global?

I have summed up the reasons why it’s hard to make money with Amare Global and MLM companies in general into 3 points. As an Amare Global Brand Partner, you’ll have to deal with the 3 problems mentioned below.

1. MLM companies are often associated with pyramid schemes

MLMs have a pyramid recruiting structure that you often have to join to be able to make decent money or at the very least not lose money. The problem is a lot of pyramid schemes disguise themselves as MLM programs making it difficult to differentiate the two.

This is the biggest problem why most distributors have a difficult time recruiting people. The moment people hear about how you can make money by recruiting people red flags appear in most people’s minds.

This isn’t good for your sales.

2. You have to consistently invest your money to earn commissions

You’re only eligible for bonuses and commissions if you buy their products. The bigger the bonuses, the more product you have to buy.

You do get discounts but if you can’t sell the products I can see you easily fall into a financial deficit (which happens to the majority of distributors of MLM companies).

3. The price of the product often isn’t aligned with the market

It’s hard for a multi-level marketer to sell products because most MLM products tend to be a lot more expensive than similar products sold by non-MLM companies.

This means even if you’re really good at recruiting your downline still needs to sell those same expensive products for you to make decent money.

• Nearly half (47%) of MLM participants reported that they lost money.
• One in four (27%) MLM participants reported that they broke even (made no money).
• MLM participants are 7% more likely to declare bankruptcy during their lifetime.
• Direct sales have risen 79% in the last decade, but MLM participants continue to lose money.
• 90 – 99% of distributors in multilevel marketing only receive a couple of hundred dollars in commission per year.
• Out of the 33,000 interviewed, 90 people made enough money to cover the costs of building their businesses.
• 50% of the people who start a network marketing enterprise abandoned it in the first year.

Is Amare Global a pyramid scheme?

To answer this question we need to know what a pyramid scheme is.

What is a pyramid scheme?

A pyramid scheme is a type of scam where people are promised money for joining the scheme and recruiting other people instead of selling products and services.

No selling of a product or service is involved whatsoever.

So you might be wondering where the money comes from.

The people who join are expected to pay a one-time or a monthly fee and in exchange for that, they get a percentage of the fee of everyone they recruit after.

The remaining money goes to the creators at the top of the pyramid.

The problem with this model is from a mathematical standpoint it’s impossible for everyone to make money because you simply run out of people.

Take a look at this picture below showing how it’s impossible for everyone to earn money.

As you can see, in this pyramid model it’s required to recruit 6 people. You’ll notice from the 12th level and further, that it’s not possible anymore for everyone to earn money.

The 2.2 Billion people on the 12th level need 13.1 billion recruits in total for them all to make money which is more people than there are currently on Earth.

When people can’t be recruited anymore, the pyramid collapses because not enough money is coming in to pay members and sustain the pyramid.

Looking at the description of what a pyramid scheme is, Amare Global can’t be classified as a classic pyramid scheme from a legal perspective. Amare Global products have given people a method to make money without recruiting people.

That being said, there are pyramid schemes that disguise themselves as MLM companies because MLMs also use a pyramid structure but sell products and services.

Red Flags of a pyramid scheme in disguise

Often arguments to counter pyramid scheme claims are the sustainability of a company and selling products.

Unfortunately, these aren’t good arguments because there are a lot of companies that have been running pyramid schemes for over a decade and have been closed down just recently.

These pyramid schemes get an influx of new money by expanding to new countries or introducing new products that are geared to different audiences and turning them into recruiters.

The influx of new money makes it possible for the pyramid scheme to sustain itself much longer.

The only thing that really indicates that a business is running an illegal pyramid scheme is if the majority of the customers are the business its representatives.

This is why it’s better to look at the following red flags.

1. There is an endless chain in which recruiters are encouraged to recruit other recruiters.
2. Advancement in ranks is based on recruiting rather than sales
3. The compensation plan pays out on 6 levels or more
4. Upline earns more than the person making the sale per sale
5. You have to pay-to-play
6. People aren’t earning money

So lets see if we might be dealing with a pyramid scheme in disguise.

1. Is there an endless chain of recruiters recruiting other recruiters?

There’s no quota for continuously recruiting other brand partners but to rise the ranks it is required to recruit brand partners.

Another thing is that in order to reach maximal earning potential you’ll need to have them rise the ranks which requires them to recruit Brand Partners as well.

There does seem to be a bit of an imbalance between personal sales bonuses and the bonuses that require recruiting or getting others to recruit new recruiters.

2. Do you have to “pay to play”?

Yes.

It is literally impossible to start as a  Brand Partner without investing $69,99

After that, you also have minimum quotas every single month that require you to financially invest in their products.

3. Does the company pay commissions and/or bonuses to more than five levels of “distributors?

Yes, the company pays commissions to a total of 10 levels according to their compensation plan.

According to articles on the FTC website, it’s extremely hard to sustain an MLM with a compensation plan like that while paying out everyone.

4. Does the upline earn more than the person making the sale per sale?
There doesn’t seem to be any indication that this is the case when looking at the Amare Global compensation plan.

4. Are most people losing money?
When you take a deep dive into the compensation plan and the income disclosure, you’ll notice that most members lose money, especially in the first year.

It seems to possess a lot of red flags that lead me to believe that something sketchy is going on.

That being said, Amare Global isn't a pyramid scheme because looking at the criteria for getting bonuses there seems to be a legitimate focus on selling products at this company.

Amare is a legitimate MLM company but the deck is stacked against you based on the red flags presented in this review.

My Personal Take

After going through the compensation plan, the income disclosure statement, and getting the opinion from present and ex-members I have made a list of what I like and don’t like about Amare Global.

Let’s break it down.

What I like about Amare Global

High commissions
Amare offers a commission rate that’s well above most MLM companies. Most of the MLM companies I have encountered in the last 5 years their “Personal Sales” commission rate goes to a max of 20%.

Amare Global its maximum commission rate for personal sales is 38%. It’d be incredibly hard to get to that point but if you were to get to that point that 38% would be waiting for you.

What I don’t like about Amare Global

The focus on recruitment
The majority of bonuses involve recruiting in some sort of way.

I’m not a fan of recruiting other people because it often puts a strain on your social circle and the rest of your network. I’ve seen enough people in my vicinity lose friends because they’re constantly talking about joining their “team”.

The monthly quotas
I don’t mind investing money in a business opportunity but being required to spend money just to be eligible to receive commissions doesn’t seem like a great deal.

For continuous monthly payment, I’d expect something more in return like high-quality training, mentorship, or something comparable to that.

Oversaturated niche
The health and wellness niche is not in a great place right now. There are just too many MLM companies that offer the same type of products.

This means you won’t only be competing with Amare Brand Partners but also distributors from other companies that offer the same products.

Overcomplicated compensation plan
There are just too many conditions for earning money with this compensation plan. You could excel in sales for example but just because you aren’t recruiting you can miss out on a lot of money and vice versa. There are just too many small conditions that can prevent you from earning money for your hard work. 

Latecomers will never catch up
The MLM model even if it's not a pyramid scheme is designed in such a way that almost all the money goes to the top. This is even more applicable to compensation plans that pay out to a high number of levels such as Amare. 

Even when you sign-up without being referred you’ll be assigned someone who will become your upline. So there’s no way to actually get to the top of the pyramid or earn as much as them.

Is Amare Global A Scam?

Amare Global isn't a scam because they're honest about how much their reps earn and published an income disclosure with that information. They aren't making any false claims and you receive products when you order them.

Do I recommend joining Amare Global?

I do think it takes a bit of investigating to truly see in what kind of state the company is.

Honestly, I can't call it a business opportunity, especially when looking at the income disclosure and the compensation plan.

This business model in general isn't designed to let anyone but the people at the top earn decent money and their income disclosure reflects that.

I wouldn’t recommend joining Amare Global if you intend to earn money.

Amare Global Alternative

Are you interested in earning money without monthly quotas, recruiting, or selling products?

If yes, then I might have something for you. It’s the method I have been using since 2018 to earn money right from my laptop.

It’s called affiliate marketing.

I’ve tried a lot of different methods in the past, and I spent most of my days reviewing all types of “make money/Business” opportunities.

I can say without a doubt this is the best way to earn money without huge financial risk.

Affiliate marketing is similar to the method used in the business opportunity above but there are a few significant differences.

Unlike Multi-Level Marketing:

• There’s no need to recruit people (and possibly lose valuable relationships)
• You don’t have to sell products (and sound like sleazy salesmen to earn money)
• You don’t have quotas that require you to purchase products every month
• You don’t have an upline (that next to the company also takes a piece of the pie)

No previous experience in online marketing, no problem.

It’s by far the simplest method to earn meaningful money online and even turn it into a full-time income.
