What is Anovite?
Anovite is a wellness, performance, and anti-aging company that distributes products with the help of multi-level marketing. The founder of the company is Dr. Anthony Kleinsmith. He created the company in September 2015 after leaving his job at a nutrition company.
The company’s headquarters is located at 14512, Center Point Way #100, Bluffdale, UT 84065, USA.
According to Dr. Anthony Kleinsmith, the thing that makes Anovite different from other nutrition companies providing anti-aging products is its commitment to not making synthetic products.
Here’s a video from the official Anovite YouTube page where Dr. Anthony Kleinsmith talks about how and why Anovite was formed.
Avonite doesn’t manufacture its products. The products are manufactured by a company called Immune Tree. You could consider this the “mother” of Avonite because it also was founded by Dr. Anthony Kleinsmith.
How does Anovite work?
In short, Anovite distributes and sells products for health, anti-aging, and wellness-related products. They have chosen to use the MLM model to distribute their products. This is important to know because they give people 2 choices to earn money:
- Selling the products directly to potential customers for a commission
- Recruiting people and earning bonuses based on their performance.
What is MLM?
MLM (a.k.a network marketing or direct selling) stands for multi-level marketing.
According to Wikipedia, multi-level marketing is a marketing strategy for the sale of products or services where the revenue is derived from a non-salaried workforce.
As a part of this workforce, you sell the products from the company, and/or you recruit people to do the same thing. This group of people you recruit will work under you and is referred to as your downline.
The bigger your downline is the more money you can earn passively (technically speaking) because you’re getting paid a percentage based on the performance of your downline.
This also means the person that recruited you which is called your upline is making money based on your performance.
The act of recruiting turns an MLM company into a pyramid-shaped organization where the first people to join make the most and are on the top of the pyramid and those last to join are at the bottom.

MLMs have been around for a long time. There are Multi-level marketing companies active today that were founded in the 1950s. MLM has a lot in common with pyramid schemes which is why scammers often use MLM to disguise their pyramid schemes.
Is it absolutely necessary to recruit people? No.
You can also stick to just selling products that you can order and re-sell to make a profit. This is easier said than done for multiple reasons which is why most members try to recruit others so they can earn more money.
How to join The Anovite MLM Program
You have to be introduced by a member or you can sign-up through the website and pay the $29,95 activation fee. The next step is to purchase a starter kit. Anovite provides its members with 3 starter kits:
- Power – costs $299,95.
- Weightloss – costs $299,95.
- Colostrum6– costs $299,95.
After that, you’ll receive training and can start right away with selling Anovite products.
Is Anovite a pyramid scheme?
To answer this question we need to know what a pyramid scheme is.
What is a pyramid scheme?
A pyramid scheme is a type of scam where people are promised money for joining the scheme and recruiting other people. No selling of a product or service is involved whatsoever.
So you might be wondering where the money comes from?
The people that join are expected to pay a one-time fee and in exchange for that, they get a percentage of the fee of everyone they recruit after that.
The problem is from a mathematical standpoint it’s impossible for everyone to make money because you simply run out of people.
Take a look at this picture below showing how it’s impossible for everyone to earn money.
Source: Wikipedia
As you can see, in this pyramid model it’s required to recruit 6 people. You’ll notice from the 12th level and further, it’s not possible anymore for everyone to earn money.
The 2.2 Billion people on the 12th level need 13.1 billion recruits in total for them all to make money which is more people than there are currently on Earth.
Looking at the description of what a pyramid scheme is, the Anovite MLM program can’t be classified as a pyramid scheme from a legal perspective.
Anovite has given people a method to make money without recruiting people. How much you’ll be earning just by selling Anovite products is a different story.
Who can benefit from Anovite?
Who would benefit from joining the Anovite MLM program:
- Expert salesmen
- Expert recruiters
- People that already have an audience
Who shouldn’t join the Anovite MLM program:
- People that hate sales jobs.
- People that hate recruiting
- People that don’t have the budget for it
- People that expect to earn passive income
- People that expect to earn a full-time income
- People that live outside of the US
Anovite products
An MLM program is only as good as its products. This is why I wanted to take a moment and take a look at the products they sell at Anovite. Anovite products are mostly aimed at people that want to improve their health from a performance and esthetical standpoint.
All Anovite products contain at their base colostrum. Colostrum is the milk the body produces in the first few days of pregnancy. It comes with a lot of nutritional benefits for even an adult’s body.
Anovite primarily distributes products in the categories of anti-aging, immune system, skincare, weight-loss, workout, energy, and pets.
They come in the form of powders, capsules, and shakes, serums.
The price range of the products is somewhere between $60 and $299. Here are some of the bestsellers of Anovite.
You might’ve noticed looking at the prices that these products are very expensive. You could find similar non-MLM products for almost half the price.
I can imagine selling these products is pretty hard considering you can find cheaper alternatives by doing a 2-minute Google search.
Are Anovite products safe?
That’s a hard question to answer but I can give you some information and based on that you can decide if it’s is safe.
Avonite has been in the middle of a controversy when it was accused of breaching the acceptable levels of lead products can contain. The city of California is suing Anovite for breaching the California health standards regarding lead.
Lead poisoning is not something to take lightly but since there hasn’t been a verdict about it yet I’m not going further in detail about this. I do have a document that entails everything regarding the lawsuit for those interested.
That being said, I haven’t found a lot of complaints regarding the quality of the products which is rare for MLM products. Normally, the internet is flooded with bad reviews but that doesn’t seem to be the case with Anovite
Pros and Cons
Pros
- It’s a young MLM company
Some MLM companies have independent sellers around every corner which makes it hard to find people to recruit and sell products to. It is a relatively young company which means there will be more opportunities to find people that haven’t heard of Avonite. - You can stay a member without accumulating PV
Your account isn’t deactivated when you don’t fulfill your monthly quota. You won’t be eligible to earn a commission but you don’t have to purchase the starters kit again to become a member.
Cons
- Anovite products aren’t FDA approved
None of the products have been evaluated by the FDA so we can’t say with 100% certainty that they follow the proper guidelines needed to deem dietary supplements safe. - People aren’t earning that much money based on Anovite income disclosures
By looking at the income disclaimer you can conclude that only 2.2% on average are making what is considered a full-time income in the united states. The majority of the associates are also in the bottom ranks. - You have to pay to play
You have to invest a minimum of $99 just to become a member and after that, pay at least $125 per month. The amount of money you have to invest also increases the higher you rise in rank. - Binary compensation plan
Compared to the Unilever plan where you can have unlimited recruits in level, you can only get 2 and earn based on the recruits under them. I’m not a fan of this model because if 1 of your legs isn’t active for some reason your income can decrease significantly. - Limited to the US
You can only take advantage of the MLM program is you’re a US resident.
Anovite Compensation Plan
Anovite can be considered a traditional MLM when looking at its compensation plan. You either sell their products for a commission or you can recruit people and receive residual income, climb up the ranks, and earn bonuses.
In total there are 16 ranks that all come with their benefits such as getting a higher commission percentage of all your sales.
- Associate
- Senior Associate
- Regional Associate
- National Associate
- Director
- Senior Director
- Regional Director
- National Director
- International Director
- Executive
- Senior Executive
- Regional Executive
- National Executive
- International Executive
- Board of Directors
- Ambassadors
Anovite uses a binary compensation plan for its independent workforce. This means every multi-level marketer will have a maximum of 2 legs with 1 recruit on each leg.
In this model, your commissions will be based on the lower-earning leg (which we call the pay leg) while the higher-earning leg is called the reference leg.
In a lot of MLM models, you’ll only get commissions until the third or fourth layer of recruits.
This is not the case with a binary compensation plan. In this plan, you’ll get a commission based on every level under you.
How much does it cost to start an Anovite “business”?
This question can be answered by looking at the compensation plan.
Like a lot of MLM compensation plans, the Anovite compensation plan is confusing at first sight. This is why I’m going to only share with you the most important aspects.
The initial cost for starting an Anovite business is $29,95 and 1 of the 3 starter kits all costs $299,95. After that, you pay an annual fee of $29,95.
By paying the initial costs you get the rank of Associate.
According to the Anovite compensation plan, you get the rank “senior associate” when you start “accumulating” +50 PQV and recruit 2 people. PQV is a term that’s often used in the MLM world to determine how much a product is worth.
Accumulating simply means ordering the products that are going to be sold.
In summary, to start your business (and start earning) it’ll cost you a minimum of $329,90 and after that, you’ll have to spend at least $29,90 a year to keep your business up and running.
This only applies to remaining in the lowest rank. The higher ranks that can earn residual income will require you to accumulate more products to stay at that rank.
How much can you earn with Anovite?
In total there are 14 bonuses that you can take advantage of such as the:
- Retail Bonus
- First-order Bonus
- Customer Advantage Bonus
- Smartship Advantage Bonus
- Fast Start Bonus
- Fast start mentor bonus
- Fast start bonus doubler
- Team Bonus
- Matching Team Bonus
- Rank Advancement Bonus
- Lifestyle Bonus
- Executive Pool
- National Executive Pool
- Board of Directors Pool
You can read everything you need to about these bonuses in the compensation plan but I’m more interested in real numbers. Luckily, Anovite has published an income disclosure.
As you can see, the majority of the “active” associates are in the bottom 4 levels. At a minimum, the top level of these 4 ranks of associates has earned $107,98 monthly and at the highest $5,186.77.
This isn’t bad at first sight but when you look at the compensation plan how PQV both your recruits have to “accumulate” which is 3000 PQV this is a lot harder than it sounds.
I also like to note that on average only 2.9% is making a full-time US income which isn’t a lot.
In theory, the sky is the limit but in reality, we know because of factors such as your ability to recruit, your competition, and the performance of your downlines there is often a limit.
Why aren’t people earning decent money with MLM companies like Anovite?
I have summed up the reasons why it’s hard to make decent money with Anovite and MLM companies in general in 3 points.
1. MLMs are often associated with pyramid schemes
MLMs have a pyramid recruiting structure that you often have to join to be able to make decent money or at the very least not lose money. The problem is a lot of pyramid schemes disguise themselves as MLM programs making it difficult to differentiate the two.
This is the biggest problem why most distributors have a difficult time recruiting people. The moment people hear about how you can make money by recruiting people red flags appear in most people’s minds.
2. You have to consistently invest money to earn decent commissions
The bigger the bonuses the more product you have to buy. You do get discounts but if you can’t sell the products I can see you easily fall into a financial deficit (which happens to the majority of MLMs).
3. The price of the product often isn’t aligned with the market
It’s hard for a multi-level marketer to sell products because most MLM products tend to be a lot more expensive than similar products sold by non-MLM companies. This means even if you’re really good at recruiting your downline still needs to sell those same expensive products for you to make decent money.
You can see that translated in these statistics I found about Multi-level Marketing.
- Nearly half (47%) of MLM participants reported that they lost money.
- One in four (27%) MLM participants reported that they broke even (made no money).
- MLM participants are 7% more likely to declare bankruptcy during their lifetime.
- Direct sales have risen 79% in the last decade, but MLM participants continue to lose money.
- 90 – 99% of distributors in multilevel marketing only receive a couple of hundred dollars commission per year.
- Out of 33,000 interviewed, 90 people made enough money to cover the costs of building their business.
- 50% of the people who start a network marketing enterprise abandoned it in the first year.

My Personal Take
I don’t think that Anovite is a scam.
It does present you with a way to earn money without recruiting by selling products and getting a commission of 20%.
That being said, to take full advantage of the Avonite MLM program you have to start recruiting and invest time in your downline and even their recruits because of the binary compensation plan.
I’m not a fan of the binary compensation system because if 1 of your main recruits isn’t selling the required number of products your earnings can be reduced significantly even if your other leg is thriving.
Also, while both recruits have to be active you’ll only get commissions based on the leg bringing in the least amount of money.
It’s a great way to stimulate people to invest in building both legs but not being able to earn on more than 50% of your recruits because they’re in the stronger leg feels off to me.
The earning disclaimer also says a lot about the company.
Anovite doesn’t seem like it’s the worst opportunity in the world but having 92% is in the bottom 3 levels and not making anything near a US full-time income isn’t what you’d call a “game-changer”.
I do think you can earn money with it but to earn a decent income you’re going to do an insane amount of recruiting and selling which are 2 things most people aren’t able to do.
I’d rather go with other “make money online” methods that have a higher chance of succeeding, earn more, and require less time.
Verdict
Is Anovite A Pyramid scheme or Any Other Sort Of Scam? No. Anovite is a legitimate MLM company that provides people with the opportunity to earn money.
I wouldn’t call it a great opportunity because of its compensation plan and the insane amount of work you have to put into your downline even after recruiting but it isn’t a scam.
Anovite Alternative
I don’t think Anovite is a terrible opportunity but I can imagine not everyone being interested in trying to recruit your friends, family, and acquaintances. If that’s the case I might have an alternative for you.
Just like with multi-level marketing you earn commissions but you don’t need to:
- Recruit people
- Buy starter packs
- Accumulate products to stay eligible for commissions.
It’s the method I have been using for the past 4 years to earn money online without needing to break the bank.
