What is Linkody?
Linkody is an SEO tool that helps with the analysis and monitoring of your backlink profile and also gives you insight into the backlink profile of others.
Linkody was founded by François-Louis Mommens and can be a great alternative for those that want are working on Off-page SEO but don’t have the budget to purchase one of the all-in-one SEO tools such as Ahrefs or SEMrush.
How does Linkody work?
I have seen multiple people complain about the complexity of it but in my opinion, it is very beginners friendly. You’ll start by doing a very simple 3-step process.
1. Sign-up
You can sign-up for the 30-day free trial or you can immediately go for one of their premium packages.
2. Add your domain and Google analytics account
Add your domain and your Google Analytics account so they can turn it into simple-to-understand graphs and tables.
3. Add Competitors
Add the URL of competitors of your niche and let Linkody search for all their links and other data.
After this process, you’ll have all the data you need to start link-building campaigns. Something that is important to know is dependent on which plan you’re the number of websites you can monitor changes.
You also can’t switch out competitor websites once you have inserted them.
Who can benefit from Linkody
Who would benefit from purchasing this product:

Cons
- Made for limited use
Compared to the “bigger” SEO tools the amount of links and competitors you can monitor is a bit less. I can imagine that there could be a time that you “outgrow” the tool. - It’s missing accurate tools for determining traffic numbers
The only real factor they have for determining the traffic that goes to a page is the Alexa rating. This rating tends to be less accurate when applied to websites that don’t use their features.

The Competitors Feature
The page for the competitor feature is exactly the same as the one for the links feature the only difference is that instead of your data you see that of the competitors you have added.
It’s a great way to find new backlink opportunities and it makes it possible to compare your link profile with that of your competitors. The competitor feature also has the same filter capabilities making it very easy to come up with a list of viable link-building opportunities.
The Profile Feature
This is where all the data of links directed to your website is summed-up in simple graphs. You’ll see things like what are the top anchors of your backlinks, how many are indexed, what percentage are spam links, and much more.
It gives you a simple overview of the state of your backlinking profile and what you can do to improve it.
The Disavow Feature
Spammy links can hurt you when it comes to ranking on Google’s search results this is why you have to disavow these links. To be clear this feature doesn’t disavow links coming to your website. This feature sends the links that need to be disavowed directly to your Google Search Console account where they can get disavowed.

Here you can see all the pages of your website that are getting linked to by other websites. You can also click on the pages and go straight to them.

This feature keeps up with changes in your link profile. You can see all the links that are coming in and the links that you lost. This can come in handy when you lose links that were vital to the authority and ranking power of your website.

Linkody makes it possible to get send reports every 24 hours with updates about incoming links and changes in your link profile with easy-to-understand graphs through email.
This will help with always being up-to-date with what is happening even if you aren’t near your computer.

My Personal Take
I think it’s an excellent tool for people that want to take that next step in building links. I remember in the past, how long it took to find backlink opportunities by using Google operators like “write for us” + niche, “become a guest writer” niche, etc.
The worst thing about it was after doing a lot of work finding out that some of the results that you found aren’t accepting guest posts and stuff. Here you just have to type in keywords that you’re trying to rank for in Google see who’s on the first page and add them as competitors in Linkody.
You’re definitely getting something that is worth the money you’re paying for. It might not be like Ahrefs and SEMrush that also aid in the creation of content and gives you a lot of numbers about traffic but it still can help a lot.
I’d without a doubt recommend it to people just starting with building links and don’t have the money yet to go for the more expensive tools.
