Summary:
IPoll is an online community founded by Gregg Lavin and Matt Dusig.

According to the sales page, it’s possible to make money by completing surveys that the website provides. The surveys are mostly about products you’re already using and places you visit.

I have heard almost nothing but bad stories about iPoll. I wouldn’t recommend it to people trying to make money online.

Founders Of iPoll

You can learn a lot about a business by looking at the history of the founder or in this case, founders. At first, I couldn’t find a lot of information about iPoll until I found out that it was formerly known as Survey Head which is founded by two people named Gregg Lavin and Matt Dusig.

Matt Dusig

Matt Dusig founder of iPoll

Judging from their Linkedin pages they’ve known each other since college. They both went to California State University Northridge and got a Bachelor’s in marketing.

After graduating they founded Gozing.com a website that provided people with data for research this ultimately became SurveyHead.

In 2005, they created File123 an online application that made it possible to store and retrieve files and programs from anywhere. They were active working till 2010.

At that time, Matt also invested in multiple businesses such as SampleChain, Gutcheck, Survata and Remesh, and Gyant.

In 2010 they went back to using the same business model they started with when they first came out of college. Providing people with data for their research by letting people fill out surveys in exchange for gift cards and money.

This is also when they created the iPoll app.

How does iPoll work?

IPoll is an online community that makes it possible to earn money online by providing its members with paid surveys. To earn money with iPoll you have to go through a 4-step process.

 1. Sign-up/ Register
You’ll have to register and become a member to start making money with iPoll. The iPoll app is available for both Android and iOS. You can download them from their official website or by going to Google Play or the Apple store. The only thing they need is your email address to register.

 2. Find Surveys
To be able to complete a survey you need to be qualified for it. They’ll judge if you’re qualified by asking you a few questions and based on your answers they’ll direct you to surveys you’re able to take.

 3 Complete survey
After qualifying you’ll be directed to a survey. The moment you conclude it you’ll get the money that you can exchange for gift cards or get paid out through Paypal.

Location is important when using iPoll

iPoll doesn’t provide every country with the capability to fill out their form in exchange for money because they only supply their information to a limited set of clients. On their website, they have a map that shows all the countries that can benefit from iPoll.

iPoll Countries

Based on your country you’ll also qualify for different surveys of which some make more money than others.

Rewards available at iPoll

With every survey, you complete you’ll earn money that you can cash out or use on gift cards from iTunes or Amazon. The threshold for being able to cash out is $35 and will be transferred to your Paypal account.

This process can take up to 4 weeks from what I have heard from people in my reviewer’s mastermind that has tried out iPoll in the past.

Who can benefit from iPoll?

Who could benefit from iPoll:

  • Nobody

Who shouldn’t invest time in iPoll:

  • People from countries that don’t support iPoll
  • People that are interested in earning a full-time online income
  • People that are looking for a stable source of income online on the side.

Pros and Cons of iPoll

  • cons
  • Pros
  • Con #1 Limited to just a handful of countriesThere are only a few countries that can use iPoll. If you don’t live in one of these countries you’re going to have to find another way to make money completing surveys.
  • Con #2 Lack of support  There’s no area you can go to get immediate technical support in case you need it.
  • Con #3 Slow payment processThe payment process can take a minimum of 3 weeks which is a lot longer than most paid survey websites that are legit. Especially when using Paypal it shouldn’t take that long.

Red Flags

iPoll Complaints

iPoll is far from perfect. I’ve found a lot of people online that are complaining about iPoll. I’ve looked up multiple websites such as TrustPilot and survey police to find user ratings and short user reviews.

Most of them were negative to my surprise the most common complaints were about:

  • Not getting paid
  • Taking to long to transfer the money to Paypal
  • The time it takes to get approval for surveys
  • Not getting directed to surveys after being approved
  • Not having access to iPoll even though their country is on the list of countries that have access to iPoll.

These are a lot of Red Flags to take into consideration before investing time in iPoll.

My Personal Take

After looking into iPoll and talking to a lot of people that gave iPoll a chance I have concluded that iPoll isn’t worth the time and effort. I came to this conclusion based on:

  • The slow process of approval for surveys
  • The limited numbers of countries iPoll are available to
  • The slow process for payment

Those that have read my content before know that I’m mostly interested in finding methods that can help with making a decent amount of money online.

iPoll doesn’t seem like a method that has a high earning potential between how long it can take to get approved and the number of surveys that are available to users.

Combine that with having to wait +2 weeks to get paid and you have the perfect recipe for not making any money at all.

Even if you weren’t looking for a method to make a decent side-income but wants to make a few dollars now and then I wouldn’t recommend it.

Is iPoll Worth The Time?

After doing extensive research I've come to the conclusion that iPoll isn't worth the time.

This has to do with:

  • The slow process of approval for surveys (can take multiple hours)
  • The limited numbers of countries iPoll are available to
  • The slow process for payment ( Can take up to two months)
  • Stories of people never getting paid
  • Alternatives

iPoll might not be what it presented itself to but there are other products out there that are legit.

    1. I have to say that I’m glad to have found your iPoll review. I’ve been searching online for a while now to find legitimate ways to earn online.

A friend told me that paid reviews is one of such ways so i decided to dig a little deeper. This review would now save me a lot of time that would have otherwise been wasted if I had proceeded without due diligence. So thank you.

You made mention of wealthy affiliate as an alternative and that struck a curiosity cord. I’ll have to go read the full review because I’m very much interested to learn more.

      Thanks for sharing.

      • Hey Lyke,

Thanks for commenting and great to hear my review was of value to you. In general, paid review websites are great for pocket change but for people looking for a way to make decent money online, it’s not the answer.

Wealthy Affiliate is also not for everyone but the earning potential is so much higher than “get-paid-to” websites that I advise almost everyone to at least give the free training a chance.

    2. Thank you for warning us about IPoll. In general, surveys are badly paid, not worth your effort. Even more IPoll, for which you have more red flags. I have been in WA for a year and I am very pleased. I learned a lot. The founders of the site proved to be honest and helpful with the training. Also the community is great and helpful. I think WA is unique.

      • Hey Carmen!

Thanks for the comment. I do agree that surveys, in general, aren’t worth the energy but there are some people out there (to my surprise) that genuinely enjoy completing these surveys for money.

I am also a member of WA and I can’t imagine using another program to make money with since they have been overdelivering since day 1.

    3. Thank you for putting together this honest review of iPoll, Rogier. It’s so difficult to trust these days, because scams are everywhere. It saddens me that iPoll is on the ‘’dishonest road’’ too – not to pay people who earned some money after going through the slow process of approval for surveys? I really wish there would be some type of efficient internet police who would shut this type of businesses down…

      • Hey Katja!

It’s indeed a shame that there are so many scam websites out there. The problem with policing scams is that it’s hard to prove if something is a scam. A lot of the products I review aren’t even scams but businesses with bad management that seem like scams because of it.

    4. Ever since I retire, I am always on the lookout for ways to make money online. I was interested in IPoll because I heard about the founders. They went to the same university I went to, California State University Northridge –Go Matadors! Too bad you are proving in this IPoll review that doing surveys with this platform is not worth the time.

Do you recommend an alternative survey company? I have been doing well with Prolific and Amazon Mechanical Turk. But they don’t usually have enough surveys on most days.

      • Hey Jose,

If you’re specifically looking for survey websites I would recommend Prizerebel, testing time or Rewardable even though the earning potential of those are pretty low too they’re legit. iPoll, in my opinion, has too many people complaining about it for me to feel comfortable recommending it.

    5. Hello. Thank you for sharing with us this amazing review about iPoll.

I always wanted to make online money and i searched on the internet different information’s about how to do it. I have found many platforms where I can do surveys but I realized that this is not for me. My goal was not just to make money and i had other goals like to have my own business and to learn many new things about how to be a good entrepreneur. I saw that Wealthy Affiliate is your first recommendation and I want to say that I really appreciate and support this opportunity. I mean, it was my best choice to join this platform. Now I have my own website and my own business promoting products by using affiliate marketing.

Your website is full of useful information and i really want to share it on my social media accounts. Wish you the best and a happy new year!

Good to hear from someone that has made money with iPoll especially since so many people are complaining about it.

Yeah. Wealthy Affiliate has definitely been a game-changer for me. In contrary to a lot of make money online products they don’t beat around the bushes. Making money online takes work but if you’re willing to do it you can make a lot of money.

    7. Hi Rogier. I have a bit of spare time in my daily life now and I always need a bit of more cash to make ends meet. I don’t have enough spare time for a part-time job, so I want to find good platforms online that provide me a decent side hustle. One concern I have regarding iPoll is that some complain they haven’t been paid. Other type of complaints are tolerable but not this one.

      • Hey Ann.

iPoll is indeed far from perfect. Their inconsistency with paying their users was one of the main reasons I can’t recommend it to people.

If you want to create a decent side-hustle I’d recommend checking out Wealthy Affiliate. It does take a bit longer to make money but once it starts rolling it you can easily turn it into a side-hustle with a semi-passive income.
