Motive Jobs Review: Real or Fake Online Jobs

So you are probably here because you came in contact with Motive Jobs or you were curious to see if Motive Jobs is the real deal or a scam. Unlimited online jobs sound good but it is hard to figure out if it’s legit.

What is Motive Jobs?

According to the WHOIS information of the website, Motive Jobs was created in 2018. It claims to have created a platform where they connect freelancers with employers to get online jobs. The jobs are designed that employers can get more data about their companies.

The founder of Motive Jobs is unknown as well as where they’re based. Their WHOIS information says the IP location of the website is Utah but more than that isn’t known.

They talk a lot about how they treat their clients with respect but I honestly doubt they have any clients for a multitude of reasons.

How does Motive Jobs work?

There’s is a big difference between how Motive Jobs claims it works and how it actually works.

According to Motive Jobs, they have a network of employers that need workers for online jobs. You can join through the website after which they’ll do a check to see if you’re qualified for the available jobs.

After this, you can do the job and upload the work when you’re done. The moment your work gets approved you’ll get paid.

Sounds good right? 

Well… unfortunately this isn’t true.

Let’s look at what actually happens when you join Motive Jobs.

The Getting Started page doesn’t have a link for signing up. It’s just a page that explains how Motive Jobs works with not even a single instruction showing you where you can join Motive Jobs.

I had my adblocker on the first time I went to the website so I didn’t notice the ads but when I turned it off I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

You literally can’t click on anything without getting directed to other websites. I have been reviewing websites for 3 years and I have only once seen a website with this many ads.

In short, you can’t apply for work on this website and likely you’ll contribute to them making money by clicking on ads hidden as normal website elements.

Motive Jobs Red Flags

Red Flag #1: Ads everywhere

The first time I went on the website it looked legit at first glance but then I revisited the website with a browser without an ad blocker. It was like looking at an entirely different website. There are ads everywhere even ads for other platforms that provide people with online jobs.

Most platforms try to keep people on their website so directing people to other websites makes no sense to me. I consider it because of this reason a red flag.

Red Flag #2: Unknown founder

Information about the owner is nowhere to be found. On its own, this doesn’t necessarily have to be a red flag because a lot of company owners don’t have their name public (Nike for example) but in combination with all the other red flags, it does give me cause to pause.

Red Flag #3: Similar to another possible scam

A few months ago, I reviewed a website that was similar to Motive jobs. It had the same number of ads everywhere and the login page didn’t work just like this website. When I reviewed that website I gave it the benefit of the doubt thinking it could be an unfinished minimal viable product but seeing this website changes my mind.

Motive Jobs does have a page with a contact form just in case you want to ask some questions. I tried contacting them but in the middle of writing my question I hovered over the submit button and saw that no link was connected to the button. 

My Personal Take

Motive Jobs is a very strange website, to say the least. It’s clear they cant deliver on the promises they’re making on the website because nothing works. 

Most websites that make these kinds of claims and don’t deliver are either poorly run businesses or scams that are trying to get your information. That’s what makes this website even stranger because everywhere you normally would submit your information isn’t working which throws the scam theory out of the window. 

The only thing I can think of is that they try to monetize on the ads on the website but when I look at the search intent for Motive Jobs it’s not a number big enough to earn a lot of money.

There’s a lot of things about this website that don’t add up.

Maybe in the future, I can get some more information about Motive Jobs but at the moment of writing this at least 1 thing is absolutely certain and that is that Motive Jobs doesn’t work.

Verdict

Is Motive Jobs A Scam? Probably but it doesn’t matter because it doesn’t work anyway.
